Mullen Wellness Series

Pornography & the Development of Healthy Adolescent Relationships featuring Mr. Roy Petitfils. Roy is an internationally recognized expert in understanding and raising teenagers. He is a therapist at Pax Renewal Center in Lafayette, Louisiana. He is an expert in raising and understanding teenagers. Roy is an internationally sought after speaker who uses humor, passion, clinical and life experience to help adults connect with teens and teens to know, understand and love themselves.  To learn more about Roy, watch his

Parent Teacher Conferences are THIS Thursday!
Faculty will be assembled in the Hutchison Field House from 1-4 PM and 5-7 PM

  • Freshman and Junior parents are asked to attend conferences from 1 PM-4 PM
  • Sophomore and Senior parents, please attend the 
    5 PM-7 PM session. 

If these specific time frames do not work for you, please attend the time that does.  We encourage you to attend conferences!  PRINT YOUR CHILD'S schedule before arriving to conferences. This enables you to know which teacher's to speak with.  Your child's schedule is not available at conferences.  Faculty is arranged in the Hutch in alphabetical order.  Please get in line for your student(s) teacher and wait to speak with them.  Please limit your conference to 5 minutes.  

Homecoming 2017
Homecoming is a month away, and Student Council is working hard to plan a great week and dance. All students are encouraged to attend the Homecoming football game on Friday, 10/20. The dance will follow on Saturday, 10/21, and will take place at Sports Authority Field at Mile High from 8-11pm. Guest passes and tickets will be available on the Mullen website in October. Please email Katie Abeyta with any questions. 

Ethiopia Trip
All students who plan to visit our twin school in Ethiopia in the summer of 2018 must turn in their commitment forms and deposit to Mr. Gray or Mrs. Abeyta no later than Wednesday, 9/27. Spots are filling up quickly, so get your form in soon! Please email them with any questions. 
Torch Award
Every year, Mullen awards Torch Awards to students who excel in academics and extracurricular life at school. While these applications are not available until March, students are encouraged all year to get involved in clubs, sports, and school activities which help earn Torch points. Students wanting to get involved can check the club calendar for information about when and where clubs meet. For information about the Torch Award, please contact Katie Abeyta. 

Mullen Singers
Please join the Mullen Singers in an evening of song and prayer as they lead you through an Evening Vespers Service. This beautiful event is at 7:00 pm in the Chapel on Wednesday, September 27th. All are welcome to attend.
Drum Line
Drum Line is searching for a few new musicians. Contact Mrs. Davis or Mr. Farrell if you play the electric bass guitar or are interested in playing the drums. Join us in praising His Name with our Thunderous Sound.
Time to clean out the attic and basement!
Mullen Music would like to give your ignored and dusty instruments a new home. We are especially looking for an electric guitar and amp or two so the students have them here to use during Friday Jam Sessions. Contact Mrs. Davis if you have any questions or to arrange drop off.

    • weigh at least 110 pounds
    • be at least 16-years-old & have signed Parental Consent form if you are 16 or 17 - Consent form can be found in room 213 - Signed consent form must be with you at   time of donation 
    • have not traveled to a malaria risk country in the past year
    • receive teacher permission to donate during a class
    • bring your ID with you to the drive
    • Allow 1 hour to potentially save 3 lives!

We will depart Mullen following following attendance and prayer on the day of the retreat and return to Mullen around 8.00 pm.

The cost of the retreat is $50.00 with registration and information online.

Senior Gradutation Information
Seniors can place their orders for graduation gear, including caps and gowns, announcements, mugs, tassels, etc. during lunch on Tuesday and Wednesday, September 26 and 27.  Even if you do not plan to place an order for announcements, please turn in the order form with your height and weight for the cap and gown order.  Payment is not necessary for caps and gowns since they are paid for through the graduation fee.
Parents and guardians of seniors should have received a letter about graduation, with important dates this week in the mail.  Please contact Ms. Niblack if you didn't receive a letter.  ( or have questions about graduation.
National Honor Society
NHS is offering tutoring! If you would like help learning material, preparing for a quiz or test, or a peer review of a paper, come to the Sferra after school any day of the week and meet the NHS tutors who are there for you! There is no need to sign up or make an appointment, just show up.

Viewing Party
Mullen Football viewing party will be in full swing at Platte River Bar and Grill Tonight! Restaurant specials begin at 7:00. Game time 8:00. Watch Mullen High School players compete against the 3rd ranked quarterback in the country! Parents, alumni and all friends of Mullen are invited to join in the fun!  RSVP to  Look for us in one of the party rooms!

The Colleges are Coming!!
 We have over 50 colleges and universities visiting Mullen the week of September 25th. They want to meet with you, so make sure you register for the visit(s) in Naviance and stop by the College Counseling office the morning of the visit to pick up your pass(es).
Interested in ACT Test Prep? 
Join us on October 8th from 12:30 pm to 6:00 pm for tips and tricks for taking the ACT. To register for this seminar, please go to Payment of $79 can be made online or your student can bring a check payable to Sycamore Learning Company to the seminar. The only materials needed for the seminar will be a calculator and two pencils. Enrollment may be limited, so please register as soon as possible to ensure your student does not miss out on this opportunity. For any additional questions regarding the seminar, please call toll-free (866) 223-9691.
Senior Individual Meetings
are being scheduled as quickly as possible. If however, you need to see your College Counselor sooner, do not hesitate to stop by. You can also reach them with an email.

Freshman & Sophomore 1-1 meetings: 
With Academic Personal Counselors continue this upcoming week. Students will have an opportunity to meet with their counselor as they settle into the Mullen community. Counselors will invite students to the counseling office for their appointment. The goal of the Mullen A/P Counselors is to meet with every freshman and sophomore by the end of September. 
Sophomores Introduced to Naviance & Learning Styles:
 Ask your student to show you Naviance and their Learning Styles results. Sophomores completed the "Learning Style" Assessment in Naviance in their Core classes. 
National Test Day: October 11th
Freshman, Sophomores, and Juniors will take the PSAT test on October 11th beginning at 8am. Students are to be at Mullen at by7:45am. More information will be given closer to the test day. For all levels, this is a practice test for the SATs. For Juniors, this tests is a National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

Father/Son Event - SAVE THE DATE! 
Please mark your calendars for the Mullen Annual Father-Son Event on November 11th at 4:30pm.  The evening will be reserved for our Mullen Boys and their Fathers/Grandfathers/Uncles/Special Father figures and will include Mass, BBQ Dinner, and a DU Hockey game vs. St. Cloud.  Limited tickets to go on sale soon!  More information to follow.
