Coaching Bios

Head coach Vince Porreco

Raised in Arvada, Porreco graduated from Regis Jesuit – then in North Denver -- in 1981. An all-state shortstop who also played basketball and soccer, Porreco went on to Arizona’s Cochise Junior College for two years, then another two at Wyoming, where he was named all-conference and all-district. In between serving as an assistant with the Cowboys, Porreco played professionally in Italy. He was in command of Metro State from 1993-2006, compiling a record of 190-174. Mullen’s head coach since 2007, Porreco is 140-96 and includes advancing to the Class 5A final four in 2016. He is human resources director for Hutchison, farm and equine equipment.
