INTERNATIONAL APPLICATION PROCESS

Mullen High School considers international student applications based on space available in the particular class. It is important that all applicants are aware of the following:

  • Mullen High School accepts applications for international students who wish to enroll as freshmen, sophomores, or juniors at the start of the academic year. Mullen does not accept senior international students unless the student is transferring from another Lasallian school. No international students will be considered for mid-year starts.
  • All international students are expected to attend Mullen with the intention of graduating and earning a high school diploma from Mullen. There are no one year programs or cultural exchange opportunities.
  • International students should know that Mullen high School does not offer an ESL (English Second Language) program. For this reason, all international applications must be well-qualified and proficient in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding English.

APPLICATION DEADLINE: International students MUST begin the application process no later than April 1, 2018 to be considered for admission for the next academic year. No late applications will be accepted.

APPLICATION PROCESS: International applicants are expected to submit the following: Online application for admissions. Proof of medical insurance valid in the United States. Transcripts (fully translated in English) from all schools attended over the previous two calendar years. Letters of recommendation from teachers and counselors in the following areas: Math, English, and Counseling. These letters should speak to the applicant's ability to function in English only, competitive, academically challenging learning environment. All international applicants will be required to submit the following: TOEFL score at or above 71 TOEFL Junior exam score at or above 750 Other evidence that English proficiency is satisfactory

ADMISSIONS CRITERIA: Admissions decisions will be based on a number of criteria including: English proficiency, academic performance, Skype interview, teacher recommendations, application review, and space available at Mullen. International students are expected to meet the following standards while enrolled: Complete all the requirements of the academic curriculum necessary for graduation. maintain a minimum of 2.0 GPA, and participate in co-curricular activities on campus.This includes athletics and clubs. Meet all the service learning graduation requirements. Enter into the Lasallian, Catholic learning environment.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: I-20 forms will be issued by the Archdiocese of Denver Office of Catholic Schools on behalf of Mullen High School after the student has been accepted to the school. International students may not begin at Mullen until the F-1 student visa has been approved. Copies of the F-1 visa must be sent to the Office of Admissions. It is the responsibility of the applicant to schedule all necessary appointments with their home country to secure the F-1 student visa. Student passports must be valid for at least six months beyond the anticipated period of stay. Mullen High School does not offer a boarding program. Students are responsible for securing suitable host families. Mullen High School does not assume responsibility for the host family arrangements. All paperwork submitted to Mullen High School needs to be translated into English by a certified translator.

TUITION:The 2017-2018 tuition for an international student is $19,200. The full tuition payment must be made no later than June 1, 2017. International students are not eligible for tuition assistance.
