That’s a Wrap!

Where did the first trimester go? It seems we were just with the seniors at the sunrise service, just welcoming the first year students with the drumline and the red carpet, just encouraging the juniors to sign up for Kairos, just speaking with the sophomores about their increased roles and responsibilities and, somehow, we are now through first trimester finals and into a well deserved short break. I am so grateful to the welcome by and support of the Mullen community. I believe it’s been a great start to our year. I hope your students feel that way, too.

I spend appropriate time here thanking our counselors, faculty and staff for their wonderful work, and I do so because they deserve it, but, today, I would like to thank our students for all they did, for their dedication, for their humor, for their energy and for their love. What a terrific trimester! What an awesome school!

Mullen Wellness Series

As you may remember, we had an unfortunate postponement of the kickoff of the Mullen Wellness Series. If you have been wondering when it might be rescheduled, wonder no more! On December 6, we kick off the Mullen Wellness Series with what will be a powerful and important presentation by nationally renowned speaker Katie Koestner. Ms. Koestner is the Executive Director of Campus Outreach Service and the Take Back the Night Foundation and will help our students and all of us consider what we, as individuals acting in our communities, can do to reduce the occurrence of sexual violence. We know this is a sensitive topic and that is is an important one as well. We will apply all appropriate, prayerful care and concern before, during and after the presentation. Ms. Koestner will speak to our students during the day and to all interested parents that same evening. More information will follow!

Free Meal of Thanksgiving
This Thursday, Nov. 15th the Mullen administration invites all students to the 7th annual Free Meal of Thanksgiving. Seniors will stay on campus to celebrate Thanksgiving as part of our inclusive community.

Looking forward to the Second Trimester beginning Monday!
