Happy New Year!

We are very excited to see the student return for the second half (or so!) of the second trimester! I hope they are ready to come back... I suspect many of you are ready for them to come back! In the coming weeks, we'll hold the Back-from-Break Dance, Class of 2023 interviews, retreats, counseling nights, Parent/Teacher Conferences (more on this next week), the Mullen Wellness Series and more! WOW! We are going to hit the ground running...

2019 will mark the 300th year since St. John Baptist de La Salle entered into eternal life.  As you may already know, the  Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools has announced that, in honor of this, the Holy See has declared 2019 a Jubilee Year, which the Church dedicates as a call to the faithful to deepen their relationship with God faith through a renewed commitment to Gospel witness, especially in regard to the poor and those in need.  In his letter announcing the Holy See’s declaration, Brother  Schieler, FSC, Superior General wrote, “I encourage each of you to become a pilgrim during the Jubilee Year. Let your pilgrimage take you “beyond borders” to places that inspire you with a sense of God’s presence and to poor and vulnerable people who are occasions to encounter Jesus Christ.”

2019 also has been designated by the Institute as the Year of Lasallian Vocations.  With the theme, “De La Salle: One Heart, One Commitment, One Life,” the Year will serve as a call to all Lasallians to celebrate their common heritage and vision; renew their commitment to the Lasallian mission, charism, and founding story; and, within the unity and diversity of Lasallian vocations, witness to the movement of the Spirit in their lives and ministry.

Parking at Pick Up Time
As I mentioned before New Year's, if you have been parking at Kings Point Apartments across from campus when you are picking up your students, please do not do so anymore. When we park in reserved spaces at the apartment, residents and nurses are having trouble getting in and out of the lots. We have been contacted by the management of the building as they have had numerous days when this has been an issue. Thank you for your attention to this!

Looking Forward...
Can't wait to see your students (and you) back at school!

Honors and AP Applications for 2019-20

Students who want to take an honors or AP class next year, if you want to be in an honors class (even if you’re in an honors class now) you need to apply. Applications can be picked up from your teachers or the Counseling Offices.

  • If you want to take an AP class next year, see that AP teacher for an application. Applications are due to your counselor when you register with your counselor at the in January.

Mid Year Reports, aka transcripts with T1 grades, have been submitted to all schools where you have given your College Counselor a pink Transcript Request Form. The Mid-Year Report includes T1 grades; we never send grades in progress. If you receive an email from a college reminding you to have this sent, delete it! We already took care of it!

Make sure to keep us posted as your college process progresses. Only a small handful of colleges let us know their decisions - we rely on you to come tell us your news! Stop by to ring the bell and celebrate and/or reflect on your college decisions with your College Counselor.
