Mustangs seeded No. 10 in 4A tourney

By Neil H. Devlin, Mullen Sports Information Director
No. 7 Frederick awaits in opening round.
Mullen was seeded No. 10 on Monday when the Class 4A softball bracket was released.
The Mustangs, 14-8, will meet No. 7 Frederick on Friday, 12:15 p.m., at the Aurora Sports Park in the preliminary round of the 16-team field. The Warriors are 15-6, won a regional and finished third in the very-competitive Tri-Valley League. Mullen played in the otherwise 5A Centennial League, finishing 3-4 behind champion and 5A top-seed Eaglecrest and Grandview.
A first-round victory leads to a quarterfinal game at 2:30 p.m. The semifinals will be Saturday at 10 a.m., and the final will be at 1:30 p.m.
A year ago, Valor Christian made it three 4A titles in succession. The Eagles are again tops-seeded.
