Megan Pohs, Student-Athlete of the Week

High-school sport:
Basketball (guard, three-time all-Centennial League selection and two-time Class 4A all-state).
What I’ve done lately: Has helped the Mustangs to a 12-2 season, their best Centennial League mark in 11 seasons. Averages 10.6 points and 2.6 assists, both marks second on the team, and needs 30 points in the Class 4A playoffs for 1,000 in her career.
Grade-point average: 3.8.
Class: Senior.
Why I attend Mullen: I really liked the community when I shadowed here. The teachers are nice and it’s an amazing basketball program.
The best thing about my sport: I like to get my teammates open shots and make them look good. And assists are just cool.
In my future: Has signed to play at Regis University and will study to become a nurse.
Pre-Game ritual: I kind of just come out and play, there’s really nothing I do … I do roll my shorts twice.
Favorite college team: Regis women’s basketball.
Why I play: I play for my teammates and my coaches, it keeps me in shape and it’s just something to ease my mind.
