Dom DePizzol to play at Bentley in DII

Senior QB makes choice.
For Dom DePizzol, what wasn’t to like?
The Mullen senior had the opportunity to go to college, live in the Boston area, play quarterback and get a crack at a good business school.
Of course, he agreed.
DePizzol recently committed to Bentley University in Waltham, Mass., and he couldn’t be happier.
“It’s a super-good business school and they’re giving me the opportunity to play football,” DePizzol said. “I went out there and visited, and loved the coaches. It was a pretty easy decision.”
In addition, DePIzzol said he “can compete right away for a spot. They liked what they saw of me.”
The Falcons are in Division II and compete in the New England 10 Conference. They were 6-4 in 2018. On the club level from 1972-87, Bentley is a combined 208-99-1 in 30 years of varsity play.
DePizzol, a 6-foot, 195-pounder who also saw time in the secondary – Mullen was 4-7 in 2018 – was 85-of-157 for 1,078 yards, eight touchdown passes and eight interceptions. As a junior, he was 93-of-163 for 1,411 yards, 15 TDs and 11 interceptions as Mullen was 5-6 and made the Class 5A playoffs in both seasons.
“Dom has a competitive spirit and a will to win,” Mullen head coach Vincent White said. “He will be a great addition to that program. We wish him all the success in the class room and on the field.”
DePizzol, also a student trainer with the Mustangs, is an A student who said he also hopes to have Spanish as a minor.
“I’m real excited,” he said. “It will be a long travel, but I think it’s where God needs me to be.”
