Regionals moved back to Saturday

Crazy weather strikes again.
Colorado’s weather has turned fickle again and as a result so has its postseason prep softball schedule.
For example, Mullen was supposed to play in its regional on Saturday, only to have weather speculation possibly change it to Friday,
However, with the forecast changing, the regional will remain on Saturday,
Welcome to in-state scholastic sports that always remain at the mercy of the weather patterns in the Rocky Mountains. Landing game officials also are a concern.
Currently, Mustangs head coach Alan Colglazier said, “the weather forecast is supposed to be better (on Saturday) than Friday. And they were having trouble getting umpires because they have to work. It’s a combination of the two.”
Here is the schedule:
Game 1 – Discovery Canyon vs. Erie, 10 a.m.
Game 2 – Mullen vs. Wheat Ridge, 10 a.m.
Game 3 – Losers of games 1 and 2, noon
Game 4 – Winners of Games 1 and 2, noon
Game 5 – Game 3 winner vs. Game 5 loser, 2 p.m.
Note: Winners of Games 4 and 5 advance to the state tournament.
Colglazier said his team worked out the past couple of days in the cold, but will head into Mullen’s indoor facility on Wednesday.
“We’re just trying to prepare any way possible,” he said.
