Baseball, girls soccer honors for Mustangs

Additional postseason honors for Mullen recently were announced.

Mustangs in baseball and girls soccer were honored.

In baseball, Evan Mallor (utility) and Will Miller (pitcher) were named all-Centennial League first team and Alek Elges (infielder) was named to the second team.

As the Mustangs finished 13-11 and advanced to the Class 5A postseason, Malloy, a senior, batted .386 with team highs in runs batted in (22), doubles (14) and home runs (two). Miller, a senior left-hander, was 4-3 with a 5.33 earned-run average in 10 appearances. Elges, a junior, topped all Mustangs regulars with a .394 average.

In girls soccer, seniors Macy Clem and Kaylah Wanna were named all-Centennial first team and senior Jamie DeBerardinis and sophomores Zoe Polzin and Anna Seaman were named to the second team.

Clem was second on the team with 13 goals and five assists, and Wanna headed the team with 23 goals and 11 assists. DeBerardinis totalled eight goals and 13 assists; Polzin had two goals and three assists; and Seaman had nine goals and seven assists.

The Mustangs were 13-3-1 and lost in the first round of the 4A postseason.
