Mustangs 5th at Platte Valley duals

Mullen placed fifth at the Platte Valley Duals in Kersey on Saturday.
Highlands won the 16-team gathering. The host Broncos were followed by Evergreen and Chaparral.
The matches included a mix of classifications as well as some split squads and junior-varsity teams.
Mullen won four duals against one loss. The Mustangs opened with a 45-18 victory over Holyoke; lost to 39-30 to the Broncos; handled Wiggins 54-30; beat Strasburg 57-24; and finished by taking out a team from Arvada West 52-30.
For the Mustangs, Noah Linares (113), Aaron Gonzales (126), Nick Machock (132), John Sumner (145) and Angelo Damian (Hwt.) swept through their five matches.
