Beat Bear Creek 10-0.
LAKEWOOD – For openers, Mullen enjoyed a seven-run second inning on the way to a 10-0 defeat of Bear Creek on Tuesday in Class 5A nonleague.

The Mustangs banged out 10 hits, six for extra bases.

Brennen Nolte was 3-for-3 with two doubles, Cameron Brickley and Evan Malloy had bases-loaded doubles and freshman Trevor Moore had a home run in his first prep game.

Malloy and Moore each scored twice.

On the mound, starter and senior Will Miller went four innings and gave up only four hits. He struck out eight and walked none. Matthew Tafoya pitched a scoreless fifth inning.

The Mustangs are scheduled for two additional nonleaguers this week, on Thursday at 5A Dakota Ridge in Littleton, and the home opener on Saturday against the Front Range League’s Mountain Range before they head out of state, but they obviously won’t happen with the snow.
