Sofia Choi shot a 2-over-par 38 at Saddle Rock Golf Course in Aurora on Monday in the final Centennial League meet of the season to finish runner-up.

The freshman’s round in the nine-hole event included a birdie 3 on the par-4, 332-yard No. 3.

She helped Mullen to fifth place among six teams at plus-47. Cherry Creek won at plus-18.

Grandview’s Amy Chitkoksoong, the 2017 Class 5A champion, won the event at 1-over.

Choi, who has won three events this season, including two in league, finished third in the final league standings behind Eaglecrest’s Emma Bryant, the 2018 5A champion, and Chitkoksoong.

According to head coach Ashley Tait, the Mustangs will compete in a small tournament on Friday before heading to Grand Junction for Monday’s 4A Region 4 at Adobe Creek G.C. in Fruita.

The 4A state championship will be May 20-21 at Pelican Lakes G.C. in Windsor.
