Dudzic competes in 4A; 'Stangs fall 2-0 on the pitch.

Michael Dudzic, Mullen’s lone entry in the Colorado cross-country championships, finished 43rd on Saturday.

Competing in Class 4A, Dudzic negotiated the course in 17 minutes, 10.1 seconds. The junior ran at a 5:32 pace.

Dudzic qualified for the meet, held at the Norris Penrose Event Center, in regionals at Grand Junction.

The 4A individual winner was Cruz Culpepper of Niwot, who was clocked in 15:36.1. The Cougars also won the team title.

In girls, Niwot enjoyed another sweep with Samrawit Dawson winning in 18:11.9 and the Cougars finishing first, fifth, ninth, 10th and 12th.

On the pitch, the Mustangs finished the regular season with a 2-0 home setback to Skyline on Friday in 4A nonleague boys soccer.

Mullen, which dipped to 8-6-1, generated 16 shots, nine on goal, but none to the back of the net.
The Mustangs were 27th in the RPI qualifying and 32 teams will be paired in the 4A playoff bracket to be released on Monday, Oct. 28.
