Antillon sweeps through regionals

LITTLETON -- Alina Antillon swept her way through Saturday’s regionals at Chatfield.

The Mullen sophomore, a state champion a year ago, won four matches at 136 pounds at Region 2 to put herself in positon for another Colorado crown.

Now 27-0, Antillon won three of the matches by pin, two in the first period.

In Friday’s first round, she pinned Lizet Ramos of Regis Jesuit in 41 seconds. On Saturday, Antillon pinned Te’ovyon Jackson of Vista PEAK in 40 seconds in the second; won a 14-0 major decision over Steamboat Springs’ Adalia George in the semifinals; and earned a fall in 3:14 over Montrose’s Kiersten Myers in the title bout.

Over two seasons, Antillon is 47-1.

She will head to her second consecutive round of championships, Friday-Saturday, Feb. 7-8, at Thornton High.
