Soph shines as do more Mustangs in Boise Nike meet.
Another weekend, another high-end performance by Mullen’s Agur Dwol.
Competing at the Nike Boise Indoor in Idaho, Dwol again won the triple jump and again set a personal best.
Dwol, who was fourth nationally entering the event at the Ford Idaho Sports Center on Boise State’s Jacksons Track, leapt 40 feet, 9.5 inches. It won by 2 feet, 1 inch, and topped her effort last week at the Air Force Academy, where she went 40-3.75.
Her winning total came on her second attempt. The past spring, Dwol won Colorado’s Class 4A championship at 37-2.
Representing MileHigh Track Club, Dwol and Mustangs teammates fared well in additional events. Dwol also grabbed third in long jump, 18-4.
Elizabeth Bixenman was part of a nice double, taking seventh in the 400 meters in 1 minute, .20 of a second (60.20), and teaming with Dwol, Emma Vigil and Mikaela Henderson for 17th in the 800 relay, getting clocked in 1:53.51.
“I’m so proud of how we performed today,” coach Caitlin Able said, “and am looking forward to the outdoor season.”
The gathering is a USTAF-sanctioned meet open to high-school and club athletes in grades 9-12.
