Mullen Promotes One of Its Own as New Assistant Principal
After deep discernment, prayer and reflection and following a process that saw almost 20 candidates - both internal and external apply - We are very pleased to announce that Liz Castellano has agreed to join the Leadership Team as Mullen High School's newest Assistant Principal.
Fifteen years ago, Liz Bucci graduated from Mullen.
Now known as Liz Castellano, she’ll officially take over her duties as a Mustangs Assistant Principal in July.
The native of Wheat Ridge has been pointing to something along these lines.“I just think I wanted to continue to service the school and I thought I could do it in slightly larger role,” she said.
Also a graduate of Regis University, Castellano is an assistant with the cross-country program, works with the National Honor Society and is the director of Mullen’s De La Salle program. She has been teaching at Mullen since 2010. Her regular duties will be determined and Castellano anticipates “an interesting fall. I just want to make sure we do what’s best for our students.”
As for being fully prepared for her new role, Castellano said “I think some of it has been the work with the De La Salle program. And I’ve done some work around with the leadership and it allowed me to see how it functions and functions around the San Francisco District. I think I’m ready to move into that.”

As for the start of the 2020-21 school year, Castellano said “I think people want to have a sense of what the fall would look like. The key is flexibility. We have to be proactive and set up some ideas. We have to be ready to adapt.”
