Creek sweeps Mustangs in Centennial dual

Always powerful 5A Bruins roll 7-0 in winning all singles and doubles matches.
 
Mullen boys tennis was swept 7-0 by Cherry Creek on Monday in Greenwood Village.

In taking all three singles and four doubles matches of the Centennial League dual, the Class 5A Bruins won in straight sets in six of the seven events.

Results:

No. 1 singles – George Cavo, C.C., def. Mac Caldwell 7-5, 6-3.

No. 2 singles – Matt Batmunkh, C.C., def. George Henry Hanzel 6-2, 4-6, 6-4.

No. 3 singles – Aram Izmirian, C.C., def. Jack Barker, 6-2, 6-2.

No. 1 doubles – Kiril Kostadinow-Kristian Kostadinov, C.C., def. Dante Dino-Greg McMullan 6-2, 6-2.

No. 2 doubles – Brayden Mayer-Nathan Henden, C.C., def. Luc Caldwell-Alex Evans 6-1, 6-1.

No. 3 doubles – Casey Dennis-Ainsley Elliott-Beagle, C.C., def. Blake Zaragoza-Sean Phelps 6-1, 6-0.

No. 4 doubles – Blake Hoist-Matthew Hu, C.C., def. Patrick Duke-Colin Mackenzie 6-2, 6-4.

The 4A Mustangs will host Cherokee Trail on Saturday, Aug. 22, at 9 a.m. in another league match.
