It was a straight-set sweep for Mullen boys tennis on Saturday.
The Mustangs easily handled Aurora’s Cherokee Trail 7-0 in a home Centennial League match.
“Yeah, I’m definitely very happy,” Mullen head coach Jacob Ohrman said. “Our doubles are playing a little more soundly, so that’s good. They’re starting to play a little smarter.”
In singles, No. 1 Mac Caldwell, No. 2 George Henry Hanzel and No. 3 Jack Barker lost only two of a combined 38 games. In doubles, No. 1 Dante Dino-Greg McMullan, No. 2 Luc Caldwell-Alex Evans, No. 3 Patrick Duke-Colin Mackenzie and No. 4 Blake Zaragioza-Sean Phelps dropped just eight of 56 games.
“We played well,” Ohrman said.
Coming up for the Mustangs are a home match on Monday against Smoky Hill, which will be played by Mullen’s Varsity II team; a road match for Varsity II at Denver South in nonleague on Tuesday; and a varsity match in nonleague at Heritage in Littleton on Wednesday, 3:45 p.m.
