Rhett Johnson

High-school sport:
Golf.

What I’ve done lately:
Averaged 1-over par in five Centennial League matches and an invitational, and qualified as one of four Mustangs to compete in Tuesday’s Class 4A Region 3 at Quail Dunes Golf Course in Fort Morgan.

Grade-point average:
3.45.

Class:
Senior.

Why I attend Mullen: Mainly the academic rigours and the sense of community in all of the sports, and the high expectations for students. This place has a great sense of community and it looks great for college. I like it here.

The best thing about my sport:
lt kind of gives me a sense of life. I go out to the range and remove all of the stress and pain in my life. It’s just an easy way to get away and make life better. It makes it easier for me.

In my future:
Hopefully, I’ll go play college golf. I’m waiting for the end of the season and will talk with some colleges.

Pre-Game ritual:
I like to just go out and do my own thing. I have a nightly routine before tournament … shave and shower in certain ways, then I get to the course, take some deep breaths and play my game.

Favorite college team:
Auburn Tigers football.

Why I play:
I play just because it’s a lifelong sport and you open up so many opportunities for the future. And it’s just a fun sport to play with your buddies and it’s fun to begin.
