Avery Panozzo

High-school sport: Softball (catcher); also is baseball team’s manager.

What I’ve done lately:
Batting .359; leads team with 14 hits.

Grade-point average: 4.2.

Class:
Senior.

Why I attend Mullen:
I would say I play because all of my family has gone here, both sisters (Corin and Andi) and my Mom (Ebie) … I always knew this was the place to call home. I’ve always been here from first grade.

The best thing about my sport:
I would say it’s the team aspect. If you’re having a bad day, your team will always pick you up. It’s just a great team sport.

In my future:
I’m planning on playing in college, looking at lot of DIII schools, mainly in the Midwest, some in Texas and on the West Coast.

Pre-Game ritual:
I pretty much put on my uniform the same way every day and have the same hair style.

Favorite college team:
My Dad’s (John) baseball team, Wabash.

Why I play:
I play softball because I’ve always grown up with it and always had a knock for it. It’s a great sport to carry into the rest of your life. All of the great components come into your life.
