By Neil H. Devlin, Mullen Sports Information Director
Kicker-punter, strong safety-running back recognized for outstanding play in a season like none other in Colorado history.

Mullen’s Aidan Lehman and Jaxon Heil were named to the all-state football teams released on Wednesday.

Lehman, a senior kicker-punter, was named the Class 5A second team and Heil, strong safety-running back, was honorable mention.

The teams over seven classifications were chosen from voting by coaches.

With 67 tackles over six games, Heil headed the Mustangs on defense. He added a touchdown as a running back.

Lehman totaled 29 points, including eight-of-nine field goals, regularly kicked off into the end zone and averaged 41.9 yards per punt.

Mullen had a tough 2020 as a team, losing its opener to complications form the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, and finishing 1-4 in the Jefferson County League, 1-5 overall.

On his Twitter account, Mullen head coach Jeremy Bennett stated he was proud of Lehman for his accomplishments "in a crazy year" and expects "big things" from Heil in 2021.
