Mullen flirts with century mark

Behind Gallegos, Pohs, Van Horn and Walters, Mustangs blow out host Smoky Hill 95-15; team moves to 2-1 on the season.
 
AURORA – Mullen turned in a no-doubter on Tuesday night, easily rolling host Smoky Hill 95-15.

The Centennial League victory pushed the Mustangs to 2-1 overall and in the suburban-based loop.

Smoky Hill is 0-3, 0-4.

The Mustangs poured in an unusually high 42 field goals, including 10 3-pointers.

Mullen junior Gracie Gallegos led all scorers with 21 points. Megan Pohs added 14, and Haley Van Horn and Abby Webster each scored 10.

The Mustangs also scored at least 21 points in each quarter and owned a 53-9 bulge at halftime.

Top-ranked in Class 4A, the Mustangs will resume play on Thursday, Feb. 4, at home against Overland, 7 p.m., in league
