Mullen rips Overland 92-15 to move to 3-1; scoring margin over past 3 games is 192 points as Gallegos, Pohs, Oates-Stamm and Freelon lead the way.
For the second time in a week, Class 4A Mullen crushed a 5A Centennial League foe.
On Thursday night, the Mustangs ran over Overland 92-15 at Hutchison Fieldhouse.
In improving to 3-1 overall and in league, the 4A top-ranked Mustangs built an insurmountable 44-1 lead after a quarter and led by a whopping 64-7 at halftime.
On Tuesday, Mullen pasted Smoky Hill 95-15. Its earlier 57-22 victory over Cherry Creek following a season-opening loss to Grandview gives the Mustangs a scoring margin of 192 points over their past three games and they have not allowed double-figure points in any of their previous dozen quarters.
Overland is 0-4, 0-4.
Gracie Gallegos and Jessica Oates-Stamm each scored 17 points for Mullen. Megan Pohs added 14 and Kilah Freelon had 11.
The Mustangs made 13 3-pointers, topped by Pohs’ four. Gallegos and Oates-Stamm each had three.
Mullen will resume league play on Wednesday, Feb. 10, in Aurora at Cherokee Trail, 7 p.m.
