Mullen’s Dale O’Blia and head coach John Howes highlighted the Mustangs’ selections to the all-Centennial League wrestling team.

O’Blia, a freshman, topped three Mustangs on the first team.

A state champion at 106 pounds, O’Blia was undefeated (17-0) in Class 3A in the shortened Season B and became Mullen’s first Colorado champion since 2017. He also was named the league's top newcomer in lower weights as well as outstanding wrestler of the lower weights.

O’Blia was joined on the first team by Mark Troni (145), who qualified for the state tournament but couldn’t compete because of injury, and Kaleb Valdez-Lemos, a sophomore who was 15-4 at 160 and earned third place.

Sophomore Hayden Woodruff (Hwt.) was named to the league’s second team.

In addition, Howes, who had five of his seven qualifiers place at state, was named Centennial coach of the year. He has more than 30 years of experience coaching wrestling, including the past four in charge of the Mustangs.
