Mario Dino plans on going places.

The aspiring transportation contributor and Mullen senior committed to the University of Redlands, Calif., last week and will join the Bulldogs golf team.

“I’m pumped,” Dino said.

Runner-up in Class 4A at the Country Club of Colorado in Colorado Springs in the fall, Dino was a four-time Colorado qualifier, also finishing 20th as a freshman, seventh as a sophomore and 18th as a junior.

Recently, the Bulldogs moved up to No. 23 in the Division III Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll.

With a 3.75 grade-point average, Dino plans to major in political science.

He said he hopes to have a career in transportation and possibly return after graduation to Colorado’s Regional Transportation District and improve public options.

Dino also will be featured on Sunday night on 9News that will include his dealing with a motor disability since childhood.
