Girls tennis wins at Columbine girls soccer falls at home to Cherry Creek.
 
Mullen girls tennis is off to a 2-0 start in the new Season D after a road victory on Thursday.

The Mustangs went into Littleton and downed Columbine 5-2 in a nonleague dual match.

Lauren Manwiller, Alexia Yost and Marin Smith swept singles matches for the Mustangs, notably with Manwiller winning by 6-0, 6-0.

No. 2 doubles Izzy Desjardins-Tierney Scanlan and No. 3 doubles Madeline Crites-Aubryanne Leugers
also won for Mullen.

The Mustangs will return to the courts on Saturday for a home Centennial League match vs. Cherokee Trail. First serves will be at 9 a.m.

No. 1 singles – Lauren Manwiller, Mullen def. Anja Delzell 6-0, 6-0.

No. 2 singles – Alexia Yost, Mullen def. Caludia Wilson 6-1, 4-6, 6-2.

No. 3 singles – Marin Smith, Mullen def. Lauren Laing 6-3, 6-2.

No. 1 doubles – Liz Gentry-Liz Phillips, Columbine def. Brooklyn Hanley-Parker Durand 6-4, 6-1.

No. 2 doubles – Izzy Desjardins-Tierney Scanlan, Mullen def. Addi Burns-Sarah Sonamer 6-3, 6-0.

No. 3 doubles – Madeline Crites-Aubryanne Leugers, Mullen def. Anne Paxson-Georgia Burns 4-6, 7-5, 6-1.

No. 4 doubles – Ashley Rhuner-Makenna Schneider, Columbine def. Renee Hart-Clara Dailey 6-3, 2-6, 6-3.

GIRLS SOCCER

CHERRY CREEK 3, MULLEN 1

In their home opener, the Mustangs fell to 0-2 with a loss to the Bruins.

Mullen is 0-2 overall and in league.

The Mustangs trailed 2-0 at half. They had four shots on goal, two by Zoe Polzin.

They will resume play on Thursday, May 13, at home vs. Overland 4:30 p.m., in league.
