Agur Dwol is feeling better and performing like it.

The Mullen junior turned in a leap of 41 feet, 4 inches on Saturday at the Liberty Bell Invitational in Littleton, the second-best effort in Colorado schoolgirl history. It’s just 3 inches behind the top mark by Sydnee Larkin of Cherokee Trail in a Centennial League meet in 2018.

“Yeah, we had to go back and look,” Mullen assistant girls head coach Darius Reed said. “She’s also a hair shy of 20 feet in the long jump.”

Dwol, who had been battling injury problems, is ranked fifth nationally and Reed said three of the four ahead of her have gone to college.

The state leader in triple jump and long jump, Dwol won the Class 4A triple jump as a freshman in 2019.

Total results from the Liberty Bell were not posted as of late Saturday night.

Next for Mullen track is this week’s Centennial meet, to be held at the Stutler Bowl in Greenwood Village on Thursday and Saturday.
