Kelly Denzler Joins Mullen at Dean of Students

Kelly is an Arvada native and has a been a member of the St. Joan of Arc parish her whole life. Throughout her youth, she always heard such great things about Mullen High School and she is excited to make the transition to be a leader on our campus.

 

Mrs. Denzler attended St. Mary’s Academy in Englewood, CO for high school. Kelly then attended Regis University where she studied French. During her undergraduate, Kelly was able to live in France for a year to immerse herself in the French language and culture. That was not enough for Kelly, she continued her education at Columbia University. Kelly would go on to earn her first master’s degree in French Cultural Studies while spending another year abroad in France.

 

Soon after graduating, Mrs. Denzler felt the calling to give back to the school that had afforded her so much as a youth. She took on the role of French teacher at her alma mater, St. Mary’s Academy. Kelly would spend six years with the Wildcats, honing her teaching skills. Kelly would also further support the young women of SMA by designing a Women’s Issues course and leading language immersion trips France.

 

Kelly’s passion for educating the whole student led her to return to Regis University for her second master’s degree. This time in Educational Leadership and earning a Colorado Principal Licensure. While she worked on her degree, she transitioned to the Dawson School in Lafayette, CO. This was an important transition for her, as she wanted to expand her knowledge and experience as an administrator and teacher by working in a co-educational environment.

 

Mrs. Kelly Denzler joins the Mustang community this week as our latest Dean of Students. She states, “It’s going to be a great year. I’m really excited to join Mullen at this time. There are great things to come as we return to the ‘new normal.’” Mrs. Denzler plans to bring compassion and empathy to the Dean of Students role. Her focus will be on working through the root cause of issues and working with the student on corrective actions. She is a “people-person” and wants to get to know those in our community first-hand.

 

Mrs. Denzler gave this message to share with all of you, “My goal for this year to really get students back into forming relationships with teachers and their peers. I want to get that feeling of community back.”
