Aguilar, Campos pace latest victory
Each score twice as Mullen tames TJ 7-1; team is 3-0.
Leo Aguilar and Jaycee Campos each scored twice on Wednesday as Mullen beat host Thomas Jefferson 7-1 in nonleague.
The Mustangs are 3-0 under new head coach Matt Degitis.
“It was almost perfect,” he said. “I mean, five set-piece goals, two in the run of play … we’ve been grinding.”
The Mustangs have been watching folm, he said, “and this group is incredibly coachable.”
Andrew DeBerardinis, Nolan Cooper and Ethan Lehman also scored for Mullen, which led 6-1 at half and allowed TJ’s lone score on a penalty kick.
Andrew McGrath and Carter Hill minded the net for the Mustangs.
Mullen, which has won 11 of its past 13 matches since the start of the past Season C, will host Jefferson County’s Ralston Valley on Friday, Sept. 3, 4:30 p.m.
