Cody Muir, Student-Athlete of the Week

High-school sport:
Soccer (Center-back and a team captain).

What I’ve done lately:
Played another strong match on Saturday, when he helped the Mustangs to a 4-0 victory over Cheyenne Mountain and a trip to Wednesday’s Class 4A semifinals vs. Battle Mountain at Legacy Stadium in Aurora.

Grade-point average:
3.8.

Class:
Senior.

Why I attend Mullen: I attend Mullen because I love the school, love the environment, love the teachers and I’m passionate about it. The campus, students … I’m 99 percent sure there’s not one
thing I don’t like about it.

The best thing about my sport:
The bond I have with my teammates. I love the chemistry and how close I am with them, and they just make it so much fun on and off the field.

In my future:
I’d love to go to (the University of Colorado in Boulder) and focus on a business degree.

Pre-Match ritual:
I have a specific playlist I listen to to feel the realism of the situation and what I should be doing before the game.

Favorite college team:
No favorite.

Why I play:
I can honestly say it’s because I love the sport and all of the things it brings me, and allows me to set goals, goals I strive for that are challenging.
