Josh Lopez, Student-Athlete of the Week

High-school sports:
Basketball (guard) and track (will compete in sprints).

What I’ve done lately:
Averaging 15.3 points with of season high of 22, for 1-3 Mustangs.

Grade-point average:
3.0.

Class:
Senior.

Why I attend Mullen:
I just wanted to get a terrific education and get closer to God. It was a good fit for me and I just love the school.

The best thing about my sport:
I would say the best thing is how it can bring a lot of people together. I have met so many people through basketball and it has been there for me through tough times.

In my future:
I’m looking for a scholarship (to play in college). If not, I’ll attend a university to study business and get involved with an entrepreneurship. It’s a big target for me.

Pre-Game ritual:
Actually, I have to always eat chicken nuggets before the game.

Favorite college team:
Florida Gators in everything.

Why I play:
I play because I love the game and I love to inspire others, and just give a show, make it enjoyable … I just love the game and love to have fun with it.
