Hannah Giacomin, Student-Athlete of the Week

High-school sports: Basketball (shooting guard) and golf (state-placer).

What I’ve done lately:
Helped the Mustangs to the Class 4A final four; Thursday matchup against Green Mountain at the Denver Coliseum.

Grade-point average:
3.5.

Class:
Senior.

Why I attend Mullen:
I attend Mullen because I feel like it’s a special environment and community to grow. It’s not too big. I feel like I’m getting the attention to do well in school. I feel closer to classmates and there’s more of a bond here at Mullen.

The best thing about my sport:
The best thing about basketball I would say is probably my team and just the feeling of playing. It’s a really good feeling when I hit a (3-pointer) – the whole team cheers for me and to do well. It’s nice to do something I love and am passionate about.

In my future:
.I’ll attend the University of Colorado and study to be a physical therapist. I’ll also be playing club basketball and flag football.

Pre-Game ritual:
I just go play. If I don’t think too much, I play better … just get it out of my head, not thinking about anything.

Favorite college team:
None.

Why I play:
I play because I’m a very active person and sports has always been my thing, I wasn’t into school much and for me to play sports, I’m passionate about it, it’s a way to relax and have fun.
