Another jump into history ...

By Neil H. Devlin, Mullen Sports Information Director
Senior Agur Dwol wins another long-jump title and helps Mullen to a relay title; more action on Sunday.

The snowstorm was destructive, there was a 50-degree temperature swing from the previous day, the schedule changed multiple times, conditions were hardly conducive for records and she began her most-recent event at 8 o’clock at night.

However, Agur Dwol was undaunted as well as, well, great.

The Mullen senior and Oklahoam signee won another Colorado Class 4A long jump with a leap of 20 feet, 1.75 inches, hours after she helped the Mustangs 800-meter relay team to another first and a day after she extended her 2022 national-best and all-time Colorado triple-jump of 42-5.5.

In all, Dwol has won three titles in triple jump – there was no season her sophomore year because of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic – two in long jump and has a chance to add to her relay crowns on the 400 relay to be contested on Sunday.

Depending on national postings, Dwol’s long-jump effort places her second.

She was joined in the 800 relay by Kilah Freelon, Lydia Gammon and Paige Lousberg that won in 1 minute, 42.75 seconds

As for Sunday in the 400 relay, Dwol will be with Freelon, Shannon McCarthy and Paige Lousberg.

Teamwise, Mullen stands second with 37 points to Niwot’s 86.
