Jzunie Jones, Student-Athlete of the Week
Class: Sophomore.
Grade-point average: 3.0.
Favorite subject: History.
High-school sports: Wrestling and track and field (sprinter, 100 and 200 meters).
What I’ve done lately: Won the 170-pound title at the Denver West Downtown Thrown Down to improve to 12-3; also is ranked 7th at the weight among females.
Why I attend Mullen: Because it provides opportunities for college and with the academics I can get the best education.
The best thing about my sport: With wrestling, there’s a lot of movement, I’m just moving all of the time. It really gets your blood and adrenaline rushing.
Planned career: Air Force Officer.
In my immediate future: I want to get on the podium at the state championships, be a placer.
