Application Process

*Please begin the application process by inquiring below. Once you have completed that process you will receive an email (within 24-48 hours) with the opportunity to create login credentials. Once your login credentials have been created you can LOGIN to complete the application process.

Step 1: Inquire

In order to apply you must complete an inquiry form to the right.  All applicants must complete an inquiry form!

Step 2: Apply

Before you apply, you must complete the inquiry process in step 1. Begin the application process by clicking the button to the right.

The Application for the Class of 2025 along with the following steps are due by Thursday, December 17, 2020.

Step 3: Assessments

All applicants are required to submit an assessments from their Math Teacher, English Teacher and an Administrator or Counselor at their current school. All assessments can be accessed through the MyMullen checklist and sent to the teacher or counselor/administrator by email. 

Step 4: Transcripts

Students must submit a transcript release form to their current school. Official transcripts for the previous two years of school, including any standardized tests and the first semester of the current year, must be submitted directly to Mullen. Attendance, immunization, and discipline records should also be included. Applications are only reviewed once transcripts are received. The transcript release form can be accessed through the applicant checklist once you log into MyMullen.

Step 5: High School Placement Test

Mullen High School uses the High School Placement Test (HSPT), a national standardized test created for academic placement evaluation. We offer a Practice HSPT to help students become familiar with the format and timing of the exam in early October.

The High School Placement Test (HSPT) is required for all students applying to Catholic high school. This year we are offering multiple testing dates in order to minimize the number of students testing at one time to ensure social distancing in November, December, and January. Please see the testing dates to the right.

NOTE- Students are only allowed to take the HSPT one time at and at one location.  We recommend students take the exam at their top choice high school.

Registration for the High School Placement test is available through the Admission checklist in MyMullen and more detailed instructions for the testing date will be sent after registering. 

If testing takes place prior to the Admissions deadline, please email results to admissions@mullenhigh.com. If you take the test at Mullen, we will automatically add your scores to your application and you do not need to submit them. If you take the test in January, please submit the scores as soon as you receive them to complete the final step of the application.

Each student is required to participate in a personal interview conducted by the Mullen faculty and administration. The interview is a family interview so parents or guardians are welcome.

Following the interview will be a required brief writing exercise. After the application deadline, applicants will be notified of their interview time and date. 

Applicants are contacted to set up an interview once all application documents have been submitted and reviewed.

*Due to COVID regulations and safety procedures. The interview format, along with dates, are still being evaluated. More information will be sent closer to the application deadline.

Incoming Freshmen Applicants

A Completed Application Includes:

  • The online application for admission
  • Teacher Assessments
    • Math
    • English
    • Counselor / Administrator
  • Transcripts and most recent report card from your current school
  • HSPT Test Scores

Transfer Applicants

Mullen High School accepts transfer students on a space-available basis. Applications are reviewed as they are submitted, and decisions are made as space opens. All transfers are interviewed by a member of the Mullen faculty or administration.

Successful transfer applicants must meet the following criteria for admission:

  • Applicant must be in good standing at their current school.
  • Applicant must have earned sufficient academic credit to graduate with their class under "normal Mullen academic work load."
  • All applicants must complete teacher assessments to include the dean of student assessment.
  • Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 2.5
