Application Process

*Please begin the application process by inquiring below. Once you have completed that process you will receive an email (within 24-48 hours) with the opportunity to create login credentials. Once your login credentials have been created you can LOGIN to complete the application process.

Step 1: Inquire

In order to apply you must complete an inquiry form to the right.  All applicants must complete an inquiry form!

Step 2: Apply

After submitting your inquiry, students must complete the online application to be considered for the next academic year.  Once you complete an inquiry you should receive an email (within 48 hours) with your username and instructions on how to create a password. 
 
If you are a current parent, please click the "Forgot password/First time logging in button" for your credentials.

Step 3: Assessments

All applicants are required to submit an assessments from their Math Teacher, English Teacher and an Administrator or Counselor at their current school.
 

Step 4: Transcripts

Students must submit a transcript release form to their current school. Official transcripts for the previous two years of school, including any standardized tests and the first semester of the current year, must be submitted directly to Mullen. Attendance, immunization, and discipline records should also be included. Applications are only reviewed once transcripts are received.

Step 5: Placement Test - Incoming Freshmen Only

Mullen High School uses the High School Placement Test (HSPT), a national standardized test created for academic placement evaluation. An advantage of taking the test at Mullen is test scores will automatically be added to applicant file. 

Practice Test Dates: 
  • September 14th  8:30 - 11:30 a.m. - Registration full!
  • October 26th  8:30 - 11:30 a.m.  - Registration is full!

Testing instructions and details will be sent upon registration.

FINAL STEP: INTERVIEW

Each student is required to participate in a personal interview--conducted by the Mullen faculty and administration--in the presence of the students’ parent(s) or guardian.

All Class of 2024 applications are due December 19th, 2019. 

Incoming Freshmen Applicants

Following the interview will be a required brief writing exercise. After the application deadline, applicants will be notified of their interview time and date. 

Transfer Student Applicants - Please contact Admissions Director Frank Cawley for more information

Applicants are contacted to set up an interview once all application documents have been submitted and reviewed.

*All students who have complete applications will be scheduled for a candidate interview.

Transfer Applicants

Mullen High School accepts transfer students on a space-available basis. Applications are reviewed as they are submitted, and decisions are made as space opens. All transfers are interviewed by a member of the Mullen faculty or administration.

Successful transfer applicants must meet the following criteria for admission:

  • Applicant must be in good standing at their current school.
  • Applicant must have earned sufficient academic credit to graduate with their class under "normal Mullen academic work load."
  • All applicants must complete teacher assessments to include the dean of student assessment.
  • Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 2.5
