Accommodations
Accommodations are supports that remove barriers and provide a student with equal access to learning. Accommodations don’t change what a student is learning, but how a student is learning.
DLS is designed for students who demonstrate a need for additional academic support initially, but have the ability to succeed in a college preparatory (CP) environment.
Chaye Gutierrez' love for history and passion for education brought her to Mullen High School in the fall of 2018. She began at Mullen in the Social Studies department and became Director of the De La Salle Program in 2020. Her research in 20th century German history has brought her to the halls of the Nazi Party Rally Grounds, the courtroom of the Nuremberg Trials, and the dusty stacks of the German Federal Archives. She finds joy in bringing similar kinds of authentic learning opportunities to students at Mullen. When she is not teaching, Chaye can usually be found watering her plants, watching documentaries, or making a mess in the kitchen.
