  • MISCAST: A Broadway Revue

MISCAST is coming to Mullen this weekend, and it’s anything but traditional.

The Mullen Theater Program proudly presents MISCAST: A Broadway Revue, where the rules of casting are thrown out the window and the spotlight shines on bold, unexpected performances. Think Phantom sung by someone you’d never expect, Wicked with a twist, or a show-stopping number that completely flips the script—this is Broadway reimagined.

A Miscast revue is all about breaking boundaries—gender, age, vocal type, and more—giving performers the chance to take on roles they’d “never” be cast in… and absolutely own them.

    Friday, April 17 & Saturday, April 18
    7:00 PM
    Rilko Events Center

  • Mullen Theatre preps for the final show of the Year: Neil Simons "The Odd Couple (Female Version)"

Mullen's Theatre program will produce a comedic show this May to round out a full year of shows with The Odd Couple by Neil Simon. The cast will be doing an all-female version of the classic concept and show.

Shows will be May 1st, 2nd and 3rd at 7:00pm in the Rilko Event Center. Tickets are on sale now for $12 for adults, $5 for students and Mullen Students get in free.

Neil Simon’s revision of his hugely successful play, The Odd Couple, sees the lead characters transformed into Olive Madison and Florence Unger. Olive and their group of girlfriends are enjoying their weekly Trivial Pursuit night in Olive’s messy and ill-equipped apartment. As the game continues, Florence arrives, fresh from being dumped by her husband. Fearful that the neurotic Florence might attempt suicide, Olive invites her to move in as her roommate. However, Olive and Florence have VERY different personalities. Where Olive is messy, untidy, and unconcerned about the state of her apartment, Florence is obsessively clean, tidy, and obsessed with hygiene. Olive’s easy-going outlook on life soon clashes with Florence’s highly-strung neurotic tendencies, testing their friendship to the limit. When Olive organizes a double-date with the Costazuela brothers, their differences come to a head and sparks fly.
