Mustangs complete busy stretch with play at Meadow Hills G.C. in Aurora; 3rd large gathering of the week; Brady is top Mustang with a 4-over 74.
AURORA – Mullen opened Centennial League boys golf action on Thursday with a third-place showing at Meadow Hills Golf Course.
It’s the first in a series of five league tournaments.
The Mustangs totaled 315 to winner Arapahoe’s 296 and Cherry Creek’s 299.
Junior Ryan Brady led the Mustangs with a 4-over-par 74. He was sixth, going 38-36, and finishing with a birdie-3 on the tree-lined course’s signature No. 18 hole.
Junior Jack Newton tied for eighth at 77, turning in 36-41 with a birdie on the par-5 No. 6.
Ethan Karr (81, 19th) and Ben Medina (83, 21st) completed Mullen’s scoring. Each had a birdie.
The field’s individual winner was Eaglecrest’s Andrew White, who had a 1-under 69, the lone sub-par round.
It was Mullen's third tournament of the week, having earlier competed in the Denver Public Schools and Cherry Creek tournaments.
