Mullen High School Alumni Honored by the Colorado Sportswoman Hall of Fame

by Patrick Motter, Director of Strategic Marketing & Communications
At Mullen High School, athletics is about more than winning. It is about forming young people who compete with purpose, lead with integrity, and carry their community with them long after graduation. Few stories demonstrate the mission more clearly than that of Class of 2022 graduate Agur Dwol.

Agur’s journey from Mustang standout to national champion and international competitor reflects what happens when talent is paired with community, mentorship, and character formation.
During her time at Mullen, Agur established herself as one of the most dominant track and field athletes in Colorado history. She set state records, won multiple state titles, and was named the 2021-22 Gatorade Colorado Girls Track & Field Athlete of the Year.

She also demonstrated leadership beyond competition, organizing community service initiatives such as blood drives while contributing to her school community. That balance of performance and service reflects the Lasallian belief that success is measured not only by achievement, but by impact.

After graduation, Agur had this to say, "Mullen means community to me. I made lifelong friends here, and I know I always have Mullen to bounce back on."

At the University of Oklahoma, Agur elevated her performance to historic levels. She became the program’s first NCAA indoor triple jump national champion and helped lead the women’s team to one of its best finishes in program history. She later earned All-America honors and continued to post elite performances, including setting the Oklahoma indoor program record and winning conference titles.

Agur also represented the United States internationally, including competing at the World Athletics Championships, further establishing herself as one of the top triple jumpers in the country.

This month, Agur was named the Sportswomen of Colorado Excellence in Field Events honoree and inducted into the organization’s Hall of Fame, a recognition reserved for athletes who demonstrate sustained excellence and impact. She joins an elite class of athletes and leaders recognized across Colorado's sports landscape.

Agur Dwol’s journey is more than a personal achievement; it is a Mustang story. She left Mullen not just as an elite athlete, but as a young woman prepared to compete, lead, and serve on a national and global stage. It is proof that when young people are formed in a community that believes in them, challenges them, and walks with them, they can accomplish extraordinary things.

Congratulations, Agur. Your Lasallian family is proud of you, and your legacy continues to inspire the next generation of Mullen student-athletes.
