'Stangs receive a little payback

Arapahoe erupts for 18 hits, drills Mullen 11-3 after suffering road loss late the past month. 
 
CENTENNIAL – Mullen was handed a little payback on Monday.

The Mustangs, who downed visiting Arapahoe 14-10 on Aug. 29 for their first victory in 2020, were handled 11-3 by the Warriors in the Centennial League.

Mullen is 2-6 overall, 2-5 in league.

The Warriors, defending league champions, pounded out 18 hits against Mullen’s Morgan Margeson, seven for extra bases, three of them home runs.

Arapahoe scored in every inning in improving to 5-4, 5-3.

Elizabeth Brady and Avery Panozzo each had two of Mullen’s six hits and both drove home runs. One of Brady’s safeties was a double.

Bella Aragon and Lucia Hurtado also hit safely with Hurtado adding an RBI.

Mullen will be back at it at home on Thursday (Sept. 17) against Grandview in league, first pitch at 4:30 p.m.
