Colorado's 2022-23 sports year begins in earnest on Monday; Mustangs will field 7 teams in the first of 3 seasons for the school year; boys golfers, as usual, are 1st with an opening match at Wellshire G.C.

Colorado’s 2022-23 sports year begins in earnest today as all fall competition will begin practice.
Boys golfers began the past week.
Today, Mullen teams in cross country, field hockey, football, boys soccer, softball, boys tennis and girls volleyball will open preseason drills.
The busiest target dates are next week, when games and matches will begin.
As usual, boys golfers will be first oin competition as they open today -- Mustangs players will compete at Denver’s nearby Wellshire Golf Course in the Denver North Invitational.
Softball and boys tennis have the go-ahead for Aug. 11, others are looking at Aug. 18 and football will open Aug. 25.
Here’s a breakdown of the fall season for Mullen teams:
--- Cross Country – First practice, Aug. 8; first scrimmage, Aug. 13; first meet, Aug. 18; regular season ends, Oct. 15; regionals, Oct. 22; Championships, Oct. 27.
--- Football – First practice, Aug. 8; first scrimmage, Aug. 18; first game, Aug. 25; regular season ends, Oct. 29; playoffs, first round, Nov. 3; Championship, Dec. 3.
--- Boys golf – First practice, Aug. 1; first scrimmage, Aug. 4; first match, Aug. 4; regular season ends, Sept. 20; regionals, Sept. 24; Championships, Oct. 3-4.
--- Boys soccer – First practice, Aug. 8; first scrimmage, Aug. 13; first match, Aug. 18; regular season ends, Oct. 22; playoffs, first round, Oct. 27; Championships Nov. 12.
--- Softball – First practice, Aug. 8; first scrimmage, Aug. 11; first game, Aug. 11; regular season ends, Oct. 8; regionals, Oct. 15; Championships, Oct. 21-22.
--- Boys tennis – First practice, Aug. 8; first scrimmage, Aug. 11; first meet, Aug. 11; regular season ends, Sept. 25; regionals, Oct. 29; Championships, Oct. 13-15.
--- Girls volleyball – First practice, Aug. 8; first scrimmage, Aug. 13; first meet, Aug. 18; regular season ends, Oct. 29; regionals, Nov. 5; Championships, Nov. 10-12.
