ATHLETIC WEEKLY ROUNDUP
MARCH 3 THROUGH MARCH 9
Boys’ Swimming
  • The Cherokee Trail dual meet was a showcase of talent for our swim team! The B-Medley Relay team crushed the state qualifying time by over 10 seconds with a phenomenal performance by Luke Jordan, Oscar Valdez, Louie Roth, and John Rodriguez.  Even some of our newer swimmers impressed, with the 200 Free Relay team made up of Oscar Valdez, John Rodriguez, Louie Roth, and Luke Jordan putting up a strong time.  Noah Mooney narrowly missed the pool record in the 500 Free.  Oliver Valdez blazed the 50 Free and 100 Fly, achieving state qualifying times in both events.  Henry Montgomery qualified in the 200 Free and 100 Back,  Luke Jordan in the 200 IM, and Oscar Valdez adding another state qualifying time in the 200 Free.
  • The Angel Invite brought its own set of highlights. The 200 Free Relay team was just a hair short of achieving a state qualifying time.  Great work to Thomas Bradac, Noah Johnson, Rocco Gonzalez-Cisneros, and Luke Jordan for pushing their limits!  Noah Mooney and Oscar Valdez continued their dominance securing state berths in the 200 IM and 200 Free, respectively.  Luke Jordan shattered the state qualifying time in the 100 Fly. In the 100 Breaststroke, both Henry Montgomery and Oliver Valdez qualified for state.
