Mullen High School Celebrates Opening of Mullen Fuel and Recovery
Michele Hannegan, Chief Advancement Officer
Mullen High School celebrated the opening of Mullen Fuel and Recovery this week, a new experience within the school’s Sports Performance program designed to bring nutrition, recovery, wellness and performance together for Mullen student-athletes.
Built directly into the second-floor training space of the Spirit Center, Mullen Fuel and Recovery expands the resources available through Mullen Sports Performance and reflects the school’s continued investment in the whole student-athlete.
Mullen Fuel — affectionately known as “Mullen’s Nutrition Oasis” — gives student-athletes access to healthy food and snacks while creating opportunities to learn more about the role nutrition plays in health, wellness and performance.
Just steps away, Mullen Recovery features new recovery chairs, tools and resources designed to help students make recovery an intentional part of their training and overall wellness.
“This is about continuing to raise the level of what we offer our students at Mullen,” said Dr. Raul Cardenas, Mullen President. “Candice Walls and her team have shown tremendous commitment to our student-athletes, and this space builds on that work. We want students who come to Mullen today — and those who will join us in the years ahead — to have access to an athletic experience that supports their development, their well-being and their ability to compete at their highest level.”
Together, Mullen Fuel and Recovery represent more than a new space. They are an investment in healthy habits that can serve students well beyond high school and in the experience Mullen is building for future generations of Mustangs.
