'Stangs grab 4th win in a row

Mullen softball has finished the regular season strongly.
The Mustangs rolled host Fairview 15-0 in Boulder on Friday in nonleague to bump their record to 8-14 on the season.
And in winning their fourth consecutive game, Mullen has outscored its past four foes by an aggregate 47-4 and won by shutout the past three games.
In banging out 15 hits, including three home runs, every Mustangs regular but one hit safely and every regular but one scored a run.
Go down the list. Tiffanie Brieno was 2-for-3 with three runs scored, a walk, two runs batted in and a homer. Avery Pazonno was 1-for-2 with three runs scored, a homer and two RBIs. Lucia Hurtado was 1-for-2 with a double, a run scored and two RBIs. Bella Hawkins was 3-for-3, has two runs scored, knocked home three and homered. Margaret Bertsch was 3-for-4, scored twice and added an RBI. Elizabeth Brady was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a triple. And Bella Sevier was 2-for-4, had two RBIs and scored a run.
Junior pitcher Marissa Sanchez allowed only three hits, struck out six and walked none.
The Mustangs now await seedings for Class 4A regionals. Postseason play will begin on Saturday, Oct. 13.
