The losing streak for Mullen  boys basketball has hit four games.

Basically, the Mustangs were out-athleted on Friday night in a 63-38 loss to Eaglecrest in Centennial League play at Hutchison Fieldhouse.

Mullen dropped to 5-9 overall, 1-5 in league. Eaglecrest, ranked No. 10 in Class 5A, is 11-4, 1-5 and tied with Smoky Hill for the loop lead.

“They’re a very good team,” Mustangs head coach Bob Caton said of the Raptors.

Eaglecrest led early and often. It limited the Mustangs to six points in the opening quarter and eight in the second.

Again, Mullen had issues with turnovers and shooting, including making just 6-of-15 free throws.

The Mustangs will resume play on Thursday, Jan. 27, at Arapahoe in league, 7 p.m.
