'Stangs 8th in Smoky Invite

AURORA – Mullen, with Austin Linn and Noah Mooney in front, finished in eighth place in Saturday’s Smoky Hill Invitational.

The host Buffaloes won with 804.5 points in the 13-team chase. Mullen compiled 364 points.

Linn and Mooney combined to place in seven events individually and on relay teams.

Linn, a senior, had the Mustangs’ top finish – second in the 200-yard individual medley in 2 minutes, 1 second. He also was fifth in the 100 breaststroke (1:00.48) and was on the 200 free relay that was ninth, 1:35.91.

Mooney, a sophomore, was fifth in the 500 free (4:59.09), ninth in the 50 free (22.45), sixth with the 200 medley-relay team (1:04.55) and seventh with the 400 free relay (3:30.64).
