Mullen was dominant on Thursday night in 67-3 whipping of visiting Smoky Hill in a Centennial League dual meet.
“The kids wrestled extremely well tonight,” Mustangs head coach John Howes said.
Tony Herrera (106 pounds), Dale O’Blia (120), Gilbert Antillon (126), Dante Dupuch (132), Isaak Chavez (138), Cooper Loth (144), Richard O’Brien (150), Colin Hart (157) and Oliver Scelza (190) each won by fall.
Estevan Loya (165), Amani Fuqua (215) and Caleb Van Meter (Hwt.) won by decision. Kaleb Valdez-Lemos (175) won by forfeit.
All told, the Mustangs won 12 matches, lost one and were in a double forfeit.
The Mustangs will be in the always good Mel Smith Invitational in Florence Friday-Saturday along with Alamosa, Bayfield, Bennett, Berthoud, Brush, Buena Vista, Canon City, Centauri, Crowley County, Delta, Eaton, Florence, Fort Morgan, Grand Valley, Gunnison, Holy Family, James Irwin, La Junta, Lakewood, Lamar, Manitou Springs, Monte Vista, Olathe, Pagosa Springs, Platte Valley, Resurrection Christian, Salida, Sterling and Strasburg.
