Some say that just knowing is not good enough, but when stepping into a situation with a familiarity of the surrounding culture and knowledge of the players involved, it gives one a step up in their quest to accomplish remarkable things. It is that precise knowledge that gives Ms. Carrie Copley a step up as she takes the helm as Head Softball Coach at Mullen High School.
Serving as the current Attendance Coordinator at Mullen, Carrie already has knowledge of and a working relationship with many of the girls on the team. Throw in her 37- years of experience as a softball player and coach, she brings a proven track record of developing successful teams and cultivating positive environments to a program hungry for both. Her enthusiasm for the game is infectious, and it will lend perfectly into her approach of teaching the game and impacting young ladies’ lives.
In reflection of this opportunity, Coach Copley had this to say, “It (being head softball coach) allows me to combine my love for softball and Mullen and add to my involvement in our beautiful community. For the past 37-years, softball has been a huge part of my life, so this opportunity is a blessing.” A blessing she does not take lightly but, instead, will use as a guiding light to deliver the goods. “I'm eager to contribute my experience and skill set to the program. With a proven track record of teaching skills, developing successful players and teams, and positively mentoring athletes over the years, I believe the assets I bring to the program will help build a future for Mullen softball that will benefit the whole athlete on and off the field.” - A blessing indeed.
