'Stangs score in 800 relay
Lewis, Donati, Puana and Martinez motor in 1:30.48.
Mullen’s 800-meter relay team in boys finished eighth to overcome dark, drizzly conditions on Friday in the Class 4A Championships held at Jefferson County Stadium in Lakewood.
Kameron Lewis, Santino Donati, Samuel Puana and Gavin Martinez were timed in 1 minute, 30.48 seconds.
The Mustangs failed to qualify in other relays on Friday and will have distance runners Jacob Sushinsky, a junior, and Amy O’Connell, senior, in the 4A 1,600 on Saturday.
Sushinsky is scheduled to race at 12:50 p.m. and O’Connell at 1 p.m.
