Savanna Hanley, Student-Athlete of the Week

Class:
Senior.

Grade-point average:
4.12.

Favorite subject:
Advanced-Placement Human Geography.

High-school sport:
Tennis.

What I’ve done lately:
No. 3 singles player; won regionals and made it to the Class 4A State Tournament in 2022; dropped opening match earlier this week.

Why I attend Mullen:
Well, my sister (Brooklyn) went here first and I followed in her footsteps. I went to Denver Christian (through eighth grade) before and I wanted something new, something bigger. I really like the sports here and I just like the new opportunities and college program. I also have a younger brother here (Jagger, a sophomore).

The best thing about my sport:
For me, I like the individual part of it -- singles, it’s like a personal thing. But I can work together as part of a team as well. I like the competition and it’s a lifelong sport I can play whether I’m super old or play it right now.

Planned career:
I’m going to San Diego State and will work in marketing.

In my immediate future:
I’m going to Africa this summer for a month and am going to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. Then I have a nanny job and wil play tennis with kids. And I’ll just be preparing for college and trying to finish off the Mullen year strong.
